பெரியார்: ஐயகோ.. அந்த விசயம் உனக்கு எப்படித் தெரியுமடி. நீ இறந்த பின் தானே மணியைக் கலியாணம் செய்தேன். என் பகுத்தறிவுப்படி இறந்தவர்களுக்கு பூலோகத்தில் நடக்கும் விடயம் தெரியாதேடி. எப்படிடி கண்டுபிடித்தாய் அதை.
நாகம்மை: கண்ணாடியும் போட்டுக் கொண்டு தாடியும் வளர்த்துக் கொண்டு கலியாணம் என்பது பெண்களுக்குக் கூடாது என்று சொல்லித் திரியும் போது எனக்கு ஒரு சந்தேகம் வந்திச்சுது. இருந்தாலும் நீங்கள் பால் மணம் மாறா பச்சிளம் பாலகியை தள்ளாடும் வயதில் மணப்பீர்கள் என்று கனவிலும் நினைக்கவில்லை நாதா. மணியம்மை என்றொரு சக்களத்தி வருவாள் என் வாழ்வில் என்றும் நினைக்கவே இல்லை.
பெரியார்: பகுத்தறிவில்லாமல் பேசாதடி நாகம்மை. தள்ளாடும் வயதில் கைத்தடிக்குப் பதிலாக மணியம்மையை மணந்தேண்டி. என்னைத் தாங்கிச் செல்ல.
நான் ஒன்றும் பார்பர்னனின் முருகன் போல வள்ளி தெய்வையானையை மணக்கவில்லையேடி. ஒரே நேரத்தில் இரண்டு பொண்டாட்டி வைச்சிருக்கல்லையேடி. உன்னை மேல்லோகம் அனுப்பிட்டுத்தான் மணியை மணந்தேன்.
நாகம்மை: அப்படியா நாதா. அப்போ மணியம்மை பெண்ணல்ல உங்கள் கைத்தடி எங்கிறீர்களா..?!
பெரியார்: நாகு என்ர விசரை கிளப்பாத. பார்பர்னன் போல எரிச்சல் வாற மாதிரி இப்படி முட்டாள் தனமாகப் பேசி.
நாகம்மை: எது நாதா முட்டாள் தனம். பெண்கள் ஆண்களுக்கு அடிமையில்லை. பெண்கள் திருமணம் முடிப்பதாலும் பிள்ளை பெறுவதாலும் ஆண்களுக்கு அடிமையாகிறார்கள் என்றீர்களே..! அப்படிச் சொல்லிவிட்டு மணியம்மையை மறு மணம் முடித்தீர்களே. அது உங்களையே நீங்கள் ஆணில்லை என்று சொல்வதை போலல்லவா இருக்கிறது. அதை உணராமல் நீங்கள் செய்ததை நீங்களே அறியாமல் பேசுகிறீர்களே அதை விடவா நான் பேசுவது முட்டாள் தனம் என்கிறீர்கள்.
பெரியார்: என்னடி கேட்டாய். என்னைப் பார்த்தா கேட்டாய் இக்கேள்வி. பார்பர்னன் கூடக் கேட்காத கேள்வியடி இது. நான் ஆம்பிளையடி. வாய்க்கு வந்தபடி ஆயிரம் சொல்லி இருப்பன் மேடைகளில். அதையெல்லாம் பெரியாரின் "பொன் வாக்குகள்" என்று எடுக்கச் சொன்னனா தமிழர்களிடம்.
நாகம்மை: தமிழர்கள் முட்டாள் தானுங்க. அதாலதான் அவர்களின் மொழியையே காட்டுமிராண்டி மொழி என்றீர்களே. அதைக் கூட பொருட் படுத்தாமல் எருமை மாட்டில் மழை பெய்த கணக்கா உங்களை தூக்கி வைத்துக் கொண்டாடினார்களே. அவர்களைப் பார்த்து நீங்கள் இப்படிக் கேட்கத்தான் செய்வீர்கள் நாதா.
பெரியார்: அது தமிழர்களின் பகுத்தறிவில்லாத நிலை. அந்தப் பேதைத் தனத்தை அவர்களிடம் வளர்க்க நான் பகுத்தறிவு என்று பேசி பட்ட கஸ்டம் தெரிந்தால் இப்படி எல்லாம் கதைக்க மாட்டாய் நாகம்மை.
நாகம்மை: தெரியும் தெரியும். அதுதான் கற்சிலை மேலுள்ள கோபத்தில் என் கற்பைக் கூட கவனிக்காமல் எனக்கு விபச்சாரப் பட்டம் சூட்டி உங்களின் ஆண்மையை நிரூபித்தவராய்சே நீங்கள்.
பெரியார்: (நாகம்மையை முறாய்தபடி)... என்னடி கட்டிய புருசன் என்று பார்க்காமல் எதிர்த்துப் பேசுகிறாய். தெரியும் தானே என்னை எதிர்த்து நியாயம் பேசிய அண்ணாவையே திராவிடக் கழகத்தை விட்டு அடித்து விரட்டியவன் நான்.

நாகம்மை: தெரியுமே.. காதலித்த எனக்கே கணக்கு விட்டவராச்சே நீங்கள். உங்கள நம்பிற தமிழர்களுக்கு என்னென்ன செய்வீர்கள் என்று தெரியாதா என்ன.
பெரியார்: தமிழர்கள் முட்டாள்களடி.. அவர்கள் செம்மறியாட்டுக் கூட்டம். சொன்னபடி சிந்தனையில்லாமல் கேட்டு நடக்குங்கள். ஆனால் நீ என்ர பலவீனத்தையே வைச்சு என்னையே கலாய்கிறாயடி. உன்னோட கவனமாத்தான் இருக்க வேணும்.

பெரியார்: சரி நட. அப்படியே நான் மணியம்மைக்கு ஒரு மணியோடர் அனுப்பிட்டு வாறன். கைச்செலவுக்கு காசில்லை என்றால் அவள் எங்க போவாள். என்னைப் போல பார்பர்னனின் காசிக்குப் போக.. காசியும் இல்ல இஞ்ச விண்ணுலகத்தில.
நாகம்மை: எவ்வளவு துணிச்சல் உங்களுக்கு. என்னிடமே சக்களத்திக்கு காசு அனுப்பப் போறன் என்றீங்கள். அதுசரி பார்பர்னனைத் திட்டிக் கொண்டே அவனுடன் நட்பு வைச்சு ரகசியமாய் காய் நகர்த்திய காய் அல்லவா நீங்கள்.
பெரியார்: ஏதோ கிழட்டு வயசில செய்த பாவத்துக்கு பரிகாரம் தேடத்தானடி. பார்பர்னன் அதுதான் பூலோகத்தில யாகம் என்று செய்யுறான் நான் இதை இங்க செய்யுறன்.
நாகம்மை: நாதா.. போதும் உங்கள் ரோதணை. திரும்பத் தொடங்காதீங்க. உந்த பார்பர்ன புராணத்தை. பூலோகத்தில இணையத்தளங்களில வலைப்பூக்களில உங்கட உந்தப் புராணம் தானாம் இப்ப கிட்.

You are writing comical skits like the one you have posted here, on periyaar. It is fiction. People, who lack intellectual courage, resort to such fiction to attack their enemies.
As a periyaarist feedbacker wrote to you here, you should take the periyaarists headlong on the thoughts of periyaar. He has said so many things that made Tamilains to examine their society. Point for point.
Points like whether he was a Kannada etc. are useless to anyone, my dear friend. Who cares?
Anyone, no matter from where he comes in, can voice for the outcast and the oppressed. Gandhi did for blacks in South Africa; Annie Besant and Andrews for Indians in India. Similarly, today world, in so many social struggles, foreigners take the lead and bring justice to the oppressed people! Did the blacks say “Gandhi Shut up! You are not a black like us.” Did Indians say, “Annie, Shut up! You are Irish!”
On the contrary, people are grateful to such foreigners for such services rendered selflessly. It is small mindedness to harp on the native identity of such public personalities. We are grateful to foreigners, that is way, we have Besant Nagar, Besant Schools, Besant statues, Andrews Ganj (in Delhi) to commemorate these people.
Veeramamunivar (Fr Besky, Italian), Rev.Robert Caldwell, a Scotsman, Rev.G.U.Pope, an Irishman - all foreignors who have done selfless service to Tamil language and literature; and, to Tamil society in general. Madame Ida Skudder by creating the CMC in Vellore, did great service to the ailing and poor Tamilians. So many like them.
You, here, talk: "I am a Tamil. My blood is Tamil" What is the use of you for us Tamils, tell me! Have you done anything that has made the lives of Tamils better ? Leave out periyaars' nativity. You should rather touch only such points like whether periyaar had really voiced for the oppressed; or just paid a lip-service to further his self-interests. That should be your sole consideration. Not what his mother-tongue was, who his parents were; whether he danced naked on a beach or not. Idle and silly!
It is maturity to meet point for point. Please write on what periyaar said; and how you differ from them.
If you write on the lines suggested by me, you will be taken seriously. In due course of such arguments in your blog, you may even persuade the periyaarists to see him in a different light. That may indeed bring the much wanted unfair treatment of Tamil Brahmins to an end in Tamil Nadu. People do things in the heat of their action. On reflection, there will be introspection. As a mob, we tend to behave bizzarily. 'Father, forgive them, they know not what they are doing!' was what Jesus said while breathing his last. The meaning is that, we, humans, do behave strangely on impulses. We can correct ourselves if guided properly in time, or on time, or at least, belatedly. Better late than never!
You should help people introspect and question themselves about their past actions.

Maybe, the blog you have urled gives point-by-point rebuttal to periyaarists. That is not the matter I was having on mind when I keyboarded my long response to you.
The matter was the only question: Why should we indulge in posting fictional skits on such personalities as Periyaar to titillate the our anonymous sycophants?
Don’t you know that our enemies can also do the same ? How long will it take for them to create such low class fictions featuring Brahmin icons like the few I have cited in my earlier feedback, my dear friend?
Is it the right way to use the blogs?

First of all, we all need to understand that India’s stand over Sri Lanka conflict is greatly influencing the words coming out for Indian politicians.
so do not try to say people by stating that all Brahmin Tamils in India are against Tamil Eelam claim. Everyone knows that some of the Brahmin politicians are routinely releasing statements against Tamils in Sri Lanka. Do you know one thing, those people had also given their support to Tamils in Sri Lanka once before.
but now Indian foreign policy makes them to change their voice against Tamils. Not only them but also many Indian politicians are doing the same even in Tamil Nadu.
So this is not going to give enough evidence to show that All Tamil Brahmins are against Tamil’s claim in Sri Lanka. Suppose if you think it is enough to say so then it would be a big mistake you are making.
Actually many Indian politicians are on the same track like some of the Brahmins you showed as examples. Can we blame them all too for the same?. Of course can't .
Therefore, what will we Tamils need to do to bring all Tamils to have a common interest, which is really going to be supportive to Sri Lanka Tamils?
In my point of view, Tamil Nationalism is only common factor available to bring all Tamils under a common roof. Shouting against Brahmins is not going to do so. Do you believe keeping the caste divisions can bring harmony and unity among Tamils? No, never.

If you like really to do so, Please start to talk about necessity of Tamil nationalism among Tamils living all over the world. and I think if we want to gain success over the effort we are making to bring tamils under a common roof, we need to stop carring Periyaar’s concepts, which are not only shouting against Brahmins but also deepening the divisions and destroying harmony among Tamils.

You have now used the word, Tamil nationalism. It is a very strong word. Bringing Tamil under one roof is possible only if all Tamils think and act like one. It is not possible. The Brahmins of Tamilnaadu feel themselves as a separate people from the rest of society. This is not a periyaar creation. But they try to pass it off as that of periyaar and DK to cover up their insular mind. Neruppillaamal puhaiyaathu.
Maybe, your experiences with Tamil Brahmins are limited.
Tamils have different castes: OBCs, FCs, SCs and STs. The Tamil Brahmins are FCs; but they think they are different from all of them.
Lets us leave Tamil Brahmins. Take others only now for argument's sake. With such disparate caste groups, Tamils cant come under one roof at all. Not only caste differences, but, in every sphere of activity, we differ. However, there may be a few areas where unity is possible such as common culture. Even here, religions come to play divisive roles. Taking Hindus only, even if the Hindus are one, Tamil Brahmins don’t allow it. They want their vedic religion to be accepted as the only form of Hindu religion by all Hindus. The fact is that such religion has been accepted, only in parts, not in toto. Tamil non-brahmins are routinely heckeled by these Brahmins as well as supporters like you, if Tamils Non-brahmins try to seek a culture to call their own.
‘Shouting against Brahmins’ is an immature wrong that came out of your infatuation with them. When we are infatuated with certain persons, we tend to see things as we like, not as they are.
The proper word should have been, ‘disappointment with them’. In spite of living in the land for 1000s of years, the Tamil Brahmins don’t feel with the rest of society. This fact can be realised by you only if you live and mix with these people on day-to-day-basis. For e.g., they dont allow Tamils to use Tamil in prayer. They want to continue their hegemony over Hindu religion.
Your dream of bringing all Tamils under a common roof is skuppered, not only divisions like castes, political and social ideologies, religions and religious cultures; but also, by the way the Tamil Brahmins live their lives in TNadu. Even in USA or anywhere outside TNadu they migrate, they don’t mix with fellow Tamils. They move only with their community of Tamil Brahmins. Go to New Jersey, you will see their separate organisations there. Such parochial behaviour is not found among the brahmins and non-brahmins of other states.
We cant do anything but to watch how the Tamil society moves on to next century, if we are alive then.

The purpose was to tell you that to counter your enemy is not to heckle at them by using the blog writing fictional skits; but to explain point for point. You are not able to understand me. You are repeating certain words without knowing their imports (meanings) like ‘Shouting at Brahmins’, ‘Tamil Nationalism’ etc.
I am not a periyaarist. But I like his certain ideas and thoughts. On Brahmins, I don’t drag him here to buttress my point about them. Mine is my own.
Brahmins lived always differently in Tamil nadu. Their first loyalty is to their religion (the Vedic variety of Hinduism) and its language Sanskrit. There may have been great Tamil scholars among them barring whom, we find the Tamil Brahmins en bloc owing loyalty to their religion and Sanskrit. It is their aim to sanskirtise the religion completely in Tamil Nadu. They oppose Tamil in prayers in Temples. They oppose nonbrahmins becoming priests. etc.
With such mindset of them, it is difficult for you and me to bring them under one roof. Regarding others too, it is not possible for you and me to talk about ‘one roof’ for all Tamils en bloc with diverse backgrounds of castes and mindsets. However, there may be some common culture that can be forged by the Tamil language and literature and the media like cinema etc. For NRI Tamils, the scale of unity should be different.
In this semblance of unity, if forged, the Tamil Brahmins don’t get themselves involved. They always like to stand apart. They fear if they mix with others, their unique culture that comes from their Vedic religion and Sanskrit will be diluted and gets lost.
Such reality bites on Brahmins is called by you ‘shouting at Brahmins’. What advantage can it be for one to make such reality bites here? Tell me. It is just a reproduction of society as found in TN for long. It is for you to say whether it is a real picture or not. Instead, you are trying to escape by throwing words like 'shouting at Brahmins.'. Anti-Brahminism is the creation of Brahmins themselves. It is a social issue. But you see it as an individual problem and the individual here is the one who writes as I have written here. Please remember Periyaar did not creat it. It was in Tamil Nadu for thousands of years as you can read from the social history of Tamilnadu. The Brahmins could be able to gag the mouths of such malcontents as they were politically and socially powerful in ancient Tamilnadu. But the power started eroding after Independence; and that was why, they could not control the anti-brahmin waver any longer. Thus, you can see that it is a social issue involving all.
If you are really concerned with their welfare, then, prove me wrong by citing examples of Tamil Brahmins to show that they have solidarity with fellow Tamils. It is possible for others to live with Tamil Brahmins if they accept they should not interfere with the unique culture of Tamil Brahmins. Why don’t you controvert me, instead of trying to gag my mouth using such words, as shouting? I am willing to accept you if convincing.
The use of Tamil Nationalism by you clearly shows you are not living in India. The word is sedition under law. You will be arrested for sedition if you print the word and disseminate it among people in India. Tamil Nationlism means that Tamils, by forging a unity among themselves, don’t want to see themselves as Indians; and be a part of India. They are like the Khalisthannis who want to secede from India. There are a few underground organisastions in TNadu itself who style themselves as ‘Tamil Nationalsists’ and bombed soft targets as Trains like the Rockfort Express tragedy in 1989; the bank burglaries; the bombing of Kodaikkanal TV towers etc. They want a separate land for Tamils. They were with Veerappans. They had their own websites, which have been blocked by Indian government. If I take extracts from your blog and post it to Indian Home Ministry, your blog will be blocked in India. That is why, I say, you don’t understand the meaning of words before using them in your blog.

Pro reservationationists ironically favour Muslims who only speak Hindi at home or Nayudus and Reddys who speak only Telugu at home.
